As being a resident of NWA I suggest everyone to visit either of these places if in town for a game or a visit:

Pesto
Mama's
Gypsy
Backwoods Barn

Almost any Mexican food restaurant in College Station

I think its fair to say that Mexican food in every other SEC state/town is complete crap compared to what we have in Texas

Hooligans is always a solid choice. While not really hidden gems but the original dreamland and Rama Jamas are good hole in the wall places

FIFY

Seriously, CS has Los Cucos and Chuys that are decent, and those are chains. Thats about it. Best places are in downtown Bryan, and there's a ton of them. Casa Rodriguez is my personal favorite.

Springdale wants to talk to you on this. Theres that Taqueria by the Walmart in Springdale that is fantastic. I cant remember the name of it though. It is a health department flunkie but the food is great.

Once again I'll never know why places like Kozys, Evangelines, and Epiphany aren't ever mentioned as hidden gems in Tuscaloosa while places like City Cafe and Rama Jammas are. Don't get me wrong, City Cafe is alright and RJ has a decent breakfast but CC is your basic meat and 3 place. It's well known by locals and it certainly isn't a "hidden gem". Nicks (in the Sticks) I would agree with. Nothing fancy and certainly "hidden" along with a good steak and great signature drink (Nickodemus)

Am I missing something? Has Kozys, Evangelines, and Epiphany gone so downhill so fast that they now suck or do Tuscaloosans and visiting Alabama fans simply refuse to spend over $30 dollars for a meal? Or do Alabama people not realize these restaurants exist?
