In 410 AD, germanic tribes united against Rome began to challenge the dominance of the Roman Empire. Northern Visigoth "barbarians" swept south into southern Roman lands, intent on destruction and plunder.

On August 24, 410 AD, the Visigoth invaders sacked Rome, ending a long age of total Roman dominance.

On September 8, 2012, nearly 1602 years after the sack of Rome, northern invaders will once again sweep south on a brutal campaign to sack the traditional powers of the SEC...starting first and foremost with representatives from Athens when they visit the frontier town of Columbia.

Pray. Heed George Santayana's famous words.

You may sack Fayetteville but that is as far as you will get. You won't ever make it out of Baton Rouge alive.

Looks like yall might have to put the plundering on hold for a few years then, seeing as this year's game is in Columbia.

The difference then was Rome was the immoral weakling of a state that couldn't control their own army or territories that well while the Visigoths were fairly united and tough.

Mizzou = pussy state in this regard.

Love your spirit. So you plan to attack our northern outpost in Columbia, MO? Should be a great game. Looking forward to it. I'm pretty concerned about the game due to 2 of starting DB's being out on suspensions which is typically how we start the season. Hopefully ESPN will carry the game in the mid-afternoon time slot. I'm thinking Florida/A&M will be in the prime time slot.

Dude, I heard the Germanic tribes have some private commits that would make Marcus Aurelius switch conferences.
