I take it you've never had anyone close in family get diagnosed with dimentia/alzheimers nor have you seen the effects of such a disease in a manner that isn't portrayed in movies shows comedies etc? I wish it upon nobody.

I'm watching my neighbor go through Alzheimers now. It's a terrible thing.

Congrats to Pat. Though I care not for Obama, I suppose that a great gesture from him.

Douch!

Grats to her, she accomplished more than most will in her life in her field than most will ever do in their chosen professions, and she did it right!

I salute her and wish her the best.

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is an award bestowed by the President of the United States and is—along with the comparable Congressional Gold Medal bestowed by an act of U.S. Congress—the highest civilian award in the United States. It recognizes those individuals who have made "an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors".

When did she contribute to the security and national interest of the USA?
