| Best stadium road trip for an SEC newbie? [NSFW] (Posted on 5/14/12 at 6:37 pm)
I'm thinkin my first SEC road game should be LSU, but they are at Kyle this year. Having never been to an SEC stadium, my ranking of must-sees goes like this: 1. Tiger Stadium - I hear they have the loudest fans in the country. Being an Aggie, this is something I can certainly appreciate. 2. The Swamp - Always hear it's a great place to watch football with classy fans. The similarities in generally between UF and A&M are actually many. Unfortunately, they are also at Kyle this year. 3. Bryant-Denny - I know it has one of the biggest capacities in the country. 4. Jordan-Hare - Heard it's a great town for college football. 5. Hemingway - Mostly because of the tailgating/The Grove. 6. Neyland - Always thought it look badass on TV, seem to have great fans. I figured I'd ask the experts, how accurate is this list? Also, since I'm a rook, here are some hot wimmins: Y'all should also make a trip to College Station as soon as you can. Our team may underachieve like nobody's business, but there are few places better to watch a college football game than Kyle Field.

I know you're dying to impress, but you should consider a NSFW tag in the subject.

This year I'm gonna say Hemingway, best chance for a road win. Plus ever time I've gone to a game in Oxford it's been a great time.

I'd pick LSU or Alabama. You'll have the most intense SEC experience at either of those. Most guys I know have really high hopes for Ole Miss, and they leave a little disappointed, plus the football isn't as intense... but you'll probably win. Auburn is fun, but there isn't a ton to do. Wait to go to Neyland when their team isn't in its worst dip in recent history. LSU is closer, and it's a great for tailgating. Fans can be obnoxious, but they are always ready to share. Alabama is great because the stadium is pretty, the fans who actually went to school there will be psyched you are there because of the whole Bear Bryant thing...and they typically try to be gracious to overcompensate for the douchebags... and the Updyke people typically stay away for gameday. I'm a girl, but I am a people pleaser and want people to have fun, and that's the feedback I most often hear.

BDS is a really pretty stadium, plus tailgating is fun at Bama. Jordan-Hare is cool too. Been there a couple times, fun atmosphere, but I'm biased and think BDS is better. Neyland will be a let down. Went there for the first time a couple years ago, and the outside was ok (Vol Navy), but the inside sucked pretty hard. Also, it's a really bad time to be a Vol fan. The student section was half-empty until 10 minutes before kickoff. The ushers were nice, and the band was pretty cool though. I'm going to Death Valley for the first time in November, and I'm pretty excited about that.

If you can only make it to one you should go to Tuscaloosa this year and BR or Gainesville next year.

No question. I was in the student section at bama for the 08 iron bowl and it was LOUD don't get me wrong but there is still nothing that compares to the 06 tre smith blocked punt to me. It was rocking, I literally thought the stadium was going to collapse. 04 lsu Courtney Taylor td was very very loud too

1. Tiger Stadium 2. The Swamp 3. Bryant-Denny Anything else can't touch these during the game. All the stuff outside of the game is great, but it's not what I came there to do. Each of these schools have good enough pregame atmosphere.

I had an absolute blast when I went to Tennessee last year. Get a tailgate spot on the river and it can be a good time. Stadium is okay. LSU should be a great trip, but you wont be able to take that one for a year. Bama is a solid trip too, but I think their bar scene after games may be too crowded to be fun. I wasn't super impressed with my trip, but I also didn't have a hookup there or anything which I know helps. Ole Miss is by far the most over-rated tailgate scene. The Grove is just boring, and the stadium reminds me of Texas high school facilities, just not as nice. Auburn is a good time. If yall are playing there that might be a good place to start. The stadium is different but really cool. I loved South Carolina when I went. UGA has been my favorite SEC road trip. Awesome party scene. Florida sucks. They dont allow alcohol on campus and I was not very impressed. Some cute gals if you find the sorority chicks. State and Ark... Meh.

I really want to go to Athens, heard they have the best bars in the SEC. Still pissed I didn't make the road trip there with my friends to see STS9
