Only 4 Out of 14 have NC rings? Disappointing

Chizik has more BCS championships than Franklin, Pinkel, or Richt. #4 IMO

Hmmm... Mullen's the best of the bottom half.

I get the guy's point on Chiz, but he is wearing a BCS championship ring. I could make an arguement for him anywhere from #4-6. Putting him at 7 is too low.

I would definitely put him up higher.

But if someone wants to argue that any of those ranked above him on this list deserve it, I'm willing to listen.

EXCEPT for James Franklin... that's just fricking *insane*.

Agreed. I also think Richt is too high at 4.

Why is John L ranked so low. Had one train wreck season but not like anyone else was winning at Michigan state.

James Franklin is getting seriously overrated.

Derek Dooley might be overrated.

Saban
Miles
CSS
Chizik
Richt
Everyone else.

No way you can justify putting Richt above Chizik

This list will be cleared up quite a bit by this time next yr. we'll know more about Franklin, Dooley, and the unproven coaches like Sumlin & Freeze. We'll know more about Pinkel against SEC competition. And we'll know which Chiz is real.

I get the guy had to start somewhere. My biggest issues are with his placement of Chiz & Franklin.

no it's not. That's why I hate coaching polls. Franklin might be the best coach in the conference. But no one knows. He's at Vandy. Most people just see that and put him in the bottom. Why? Who the best coach is, isn't all about stats and wins. It's also just opinion, and really, none of us know enough about these guys to say. Miles gets top two everytime because he is the coach at LSU. Well if he drops a couple games this year, he might all of a sudden be the dumbest coach in america.

Agree with most of the list but Chizik should be ranked higher than Franklin. I'm not a Chizik fan by any means but he has a national championship and winning six games with four non-conference creampuffs at a place with zero expectations doesn't make you a great coach. I mean Gerry Dinardo basically did the same thing at Vandy and nobody considers him to be a great coach.

Why he's been one of the most successful coaches in the SEC since he's been at UGA. He's missed on a couple chances at a Nat'l Title but his record is great. I would have no problem putting Chizik ahead of him but no lower than 5. He's too proven, even with the recent downward trend.
