For the second time in three weeks Louisville destroyed SEC leader Kentucky. At least tonight's 10-2 score was closer than the previous 12-0 game.

That's alright. We're just setting them up for heartbreak when we face them in the regionals and send them home.

Hope they send UL to the Purdue Regional...they seem to have our number this year.
On to Vandy.

And by their message boards, they would run the SEC, and those midweek games mean much more than conference games.

And then?
eta: Do they even play a full conference schedule? How many teams in the BE have baseball?

So I know it really shouldn't even need to be brought up but..... mid week game just coming off the biggest series of the year up to that point. Oh and the Big East sucks.

So about half?
You really can't say that when discussing the Big East conference. Unlike the SEC the BE has a very different football, basketball and baseball configuration. The conference is tailored for specific sports and morphs as the sports change.
The conference has 16 basketball teams, 12 baseball teams, and I believe they're down to 8 football teams.

I just did, didn't I?

And that is the reason it will either fold or be relegated to an FCS or basketball only league in the next few years.

I have no idea what that means. You posted that half the BE schools have baseball teams but since the BE isn't tailored for any one sport then your statement has no qualifying point of reference. Its an odd conference.

I would like to see the BE lose their automatic BCS bowl berth. However, as long as they have the number of teams to qualify I think they will keep their position.

I agree for two specific reasons.
One is market size. Plenty of large markets in the east no one wants to see eliminated from the BCS equation.
Second is sports journalism. a large portion of the sports information going round is generated from eastern sources. ESPN is headquartered in connecticut. The children of the people working there attend schools like UCONN and Syracuse. Heck, it seems like half the people working in sports journalism received their degrees from Syracuse.
Now all that flies out the window if the Big East ever becomes a conference of teams located in Idaho and small Texas towns.

Hate to say it, but Louisville is the type of team that could go on a run in the regionals and catch someone in the Super and advance to Omaha.
Great coaching and they are YOUNG and the more at bats they see,the better they are getting. Only thing holding them back is their pitching staff...other then that, they can crush the damn ball and spray it all over the yard.
Louisville has one hell of a baseball program, and no doubt, they could compete in the SEC...I know Ole Miss fans would take McDonald if Bianco was not there.

Agreed. There are a number of teams capable of making a run. I posted the results from last night' game to show there's a lot of good baseball being played outside the SEC.
Congrats on Kentucky's success thus far.
