Predict college football's new playoff system:

The meetings are going on as we speak. Choose what option below you predict they will go with (I've eliminated the "Four Team Plus" - the 6-team/3game Rose bowl deal - because it will never happen). Fox Sports article outlining the possibilities
OPTION 1
The plus-one without a true playoff. After the bowls play out as normal, the two best-looking teams would play for the national title.
OPTION 2
A true four-team playoff using the current bowl structure. The BCS system would stay as is, with No. 1 vs. No. 4 and No. 2 vs. No. 3 squaring off within the current bowl structure before one final BCS championship.
OPTION 3
Four-team playoff, but with a home-field advantage. #4 plays at #1 and #3 plays at #2. Winners meet in the championship game at a neutral site.
Also, the other two big things that will be decided:
1. Will they remove the cap on # of BCS teams from a conference (currently 2)?
2. Will they require that you win your conference to be eligible for the playoff?

Option 2
Conference championship not necessary

They will probably choose option 2, but I would like option 3 the best.

Would like to see option #2 but we will probably get option #1
I don't think they will remove the cap on the amount of teams in one conference
I can't see them requiring a team to win its conference since there are more than two teams involved

8 team.
Eastern/Western conference champs(top 4 AQ champs by BCS rankings) get a home game or right to play in the Rose Bowl/Orange Bowl(the winners play or the national Title) Losers go to the other BCS bowls.
This allows the Rose Bowl to maintain their B1G/Pac12 tie in(granted their champs are ranked higher than all but two champs(SEC and one other).
This is the only system I see working.

i would like option 3, but still keep the bowls for the losers. i think a top 10 finish should still be a worthy goal for teams.

I like option 3 with only Conference Champs allowed.

What will it take for there to be an 'NCAA champion' in college football?

I like the weather element # 3 may add if Penn State was to host that time of year

Bob Stoops made a good case for #2 yesterday.

FWIW, I believe they will go with Option2 (to appease the current bowls and current BCS proponents while simulatenously moving to a true playoff) and that the conference cap will be increased to 3 (to appease the big boys....SEC/Big10) and that only conference champions will be eligible for the 4-team playoff (to appease everyone else).
While not perfect, everyone gets something that makes them happy.

Top 6 teams play til a champ is crowned then that team plays Bama

According to ESPN the proposal to limit the field to conference champs is all but dead, as is the idea to have the games on campus. 4 teams is the highest anyone that matters is willing to vote for.
