TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Ashley Priess made history this season by becoming the first gymnast to compete at Alabama as a graduate student.
Now she's going to make more history.
The star who helped lead the Crimson Tide to its second consecutive national championship -- and its sixth NCAA title overall -- will become the program's first fifth-year gymnast.
Priess sat out her junior season in 2011 as she recovered from surgeries on both ankles. She was called a senior this season because she had no intention of using the redshirt season and returning for one more year.
