Nothing in the SEC quite clashes like orange and crimson.

Yeah Florida and Alabama were really going at it earlier. Those gymnastic girls are really athletic.

As someone that is "new" to the SEC, this rivalry puzzles me. Does anyone think it's a real rivalry outside of the two teams involved? Or is it just a pain in the arse that screws up scheduling?

Best two teams in the SEC, historically. Not really tough to figure out.

Oh man, you could write a book. (Actually books have been written) about the 3rd Saturday in October. Suffice to say that historically in SEC CFB it's been UA, then UT, then everyone else. But as I said earlier on this post, UT better find another gear...someone is gaining!

Please Tell me Dooley wore the orange pants today. FWIW, I like Dooley at UT.

on a side note, does anyone have the bama kid on video saying how he hates UT. One of the best youtubes ever made.

#1) Yes, it's a real rivalry. That's not something that the other teams have a say in.

#2) Alabama and tennessee built the SEC(We did mainly, we just let tennessee tag along ). We will frick up any kind of scheduling whenever we damn well please

IMO, the three biggest rivalries historically are:
1. UA/UT
2. AU/UGA
3. UA/AU

After Bryant's retirement I would say IB has moved up. Before flaming...JMO.

Alabama-Tennessee = Texas OU

Alabama-Auburn = Texas Texas A&M

It's Alabama's oldest, and for a long long time, its most intense. There are two schools of fans. Younger fans largely consider Auburn the bigger of the two, but it's dependent upon how good the teams are. Old school fans are all about Tennessee. It's called 3rd Saturday in October, and generally considered one of the top 10 rivalry games in college football.

In the early 2000's, it was intense because Fulmer ratted on Alabama about Means, and he was beating Alabama every year. When I was growing up, if I said Auburn was my least favorite team, my dad corrected me and told me it was Tennessee.

Fair enough. I guess Tennessee has just sucked since I was young and that takes away from my perception of anything they're involved in as a big rivalry. It's good to be a part of a conference that actually matters and makes sense geographically. Much to learn

Think about Texas-OU when Texas sucked and OU was good, and you'll get the idea. When Tennessee is good again, it will get REALLY intense.
