At some point in 2012, Yeldon will take the #1 spot at RB.

Saban noted that Lacy will come back from his turf-toe surgery and that Jalston Fowler and Dee Hart each "can do certain things." And Yeldon? "T.J.'s kinda one of those guys that can do everything."
I wonder how effective Lacy will be after his surgery. Turf toe seems petty, but is nothing to downplay. Lacy may start game one, but it will be interesting as things progress with Yeldon.

Again, just use a RB by committee and lighten the load if Lacy's turf toe is still bothering him. Maybe give Lacy 12-15 carries, Yeldon 8-10 carries, and Fowler and Hart 3-5 carries a game.

Nope. I firmly believe by mid season Yeldon will be the best back Bama has.

My prediction... Yeldon gets less than 60 carries this year. He'll get even less if everyone else stays healthy.

Every year fans think the 5* newcomer is going to come in and take over the starting role.

He looked like a future star in practice against the #2 defense. But he's not going to start over Lacy who has been a dynamic player on the field against actual competition for two years.

Looking at recruiting videos and his stature, I didn't think Yeldon would ever be a great back. But, after watching him in the A-Day game, I admit I was wrong. He can be a star. But, if Richardson didn't start over Ingram, Yeldon isn't going to start over Lacy. Give him some time.

Is there alot of dropoff from the 1st to the 2nd string on defense? What happened to the great depth Saban normally keeps?

Dee Hart was getting this much hype too, poor guy will probably be a career 3rd stringer. IMO the lineup will be
1. Lacey
2. Yeldon
3. Fowler
4. Hart

Has all the potential in the world, but makes stupid decisions.

It's gonna take a while to crawl out of Saban's doghouse, IMO. Otherwise, he'd be the #2 back behind Lacy.

Yeldon doesn't start unless Lacy is injured. Lacy starts, gets 60%+ of the carries, and has a great yr. Yeldon probably gets bt 6-8 carries/game depending on scores. He'll play a ton though. I think he is in '12 what Ingram was in '08 & Trent was in '09.

Considering Fowler just had surgery as well... Yeldon and Hart are the only running backs that are 100 percent. Do not forget about Kenyan Drake. Redshirt is likely, but Fowler nor Lacy will be cleared anytime soon.

Easy tiger. I think he will take over second spot by week three or four but let's not get retarded. He will not be starting unless Lacy goes down.
