Yeah, I was just posting this. He was famous for his hair, but he was a hell of a player too.

- Dwayne Schintzius, the 7-foot-2, 275-pound center who led the University of Florida to its first three NCAA men's basketball tournament appearances and played nine seasons in the NBA, died Sunday afternoon from respiratory failure.
He was 43. Schintzius had endured months of complications after receiving a second bone marrow transplant, his younger brother Travis said.
So young. Definitely proves we should all be thankful for good health at any age.
He battled with Shaq and Stanley Roberts.

He later worked in sports marketing while maintaining his free-spirited attitude. He ate right and worked out regularly. Even at age 40, he could put both palms on the floor while standing flat-footed and straight-legged. He could take one foot and kick the bottom of a regulation basketball net while keeping the other foot flat on the ground.

Sorry to hear but hopefully at peace now and no more suffering. Great BB player that I had the pleasure of watching when he played against the Tigers. God bless his family and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and the Gator nation.

Just heard about this....Man, that is really sad stuff. Way too young....
I remember this guy well back from my days at LSU...Helluva ball player. He came in to the PMAC when it was truly still "The Deaf Dome", and took more than his share of heckling from the student section- but, to his credit- ALWAYS brought along his "A" Game....A warrior on the court.
RIP to a truly worthy opponent. Thanks for the memories, Dwayne Schintzius.

I remember that cat. He was the kind of guy you loved to hate unless he was on your team. Tough dude, sorry to hear this.

Sad. Didn't know he was sick. I always credited him as the guy that got UF bball going in the right direction.
