I like him a lot and will be pissed if anything happens to him over this.

And, if we had a different coach would people like Arkansas better?

Even if he won as much or more than Petrino?

He seems like a really smart guy, I doubt anything happens to him unless this runs a whole lot deeper than it appears. If I were in y'alls position I would just trust him.

And I don't hate Arkansas even if Petrino is a dick.

frick what anyone else thinks. Long is OUR yankee businessman...

Nothing will happen to Long and more than likely Petrino keeps his job. He frick up, big deal. As long as he keeps winning boosters and fans will be happy with him...

This. Anyone can sit back and let money roll in and be a good PR man. It's the tough situations like this that make you a good AD. For example, McGarity had to come in and clean up the Damon Evans mess and deal with our first losing season in 14 years. Turned out pretty well considering. Long will prove what kind of AD he is these next few weeks

Yeah, Long has made some solid hires at Arkansas, and i read somewhere about Arkansas's revenue is soaring under him.

JL is awesome! I hear the GOBN doesn't like him, and of course they wouldn't because he's not their puppet. He's done a good job, sucks he got stuck with Pelphrey by PeePaw, but that looks to be working itself out.

This thing with Petrino will blow over if media lets it. BP is a fun one for those self inflated vulture dumbfricks to attack. He did a pretty stupid thing and he doesn't have the personality to smooth it over either.

Long is doing the right things, but firing Petrino would not be. I want to see his pay cut back to about $2 mil max, and the $18mil buyout lengthened 5 more years. BP is as hireable as Jerry Sandusky right now.

It's tolerable to be an arse hole like Saban or Meyer because they win and follow the morals of society. Petrino wins, but no matter how much infidelity seems like the norm, he lied to his boss (Long) and cheated with an AD employee when he has 4 kids and 2 grandkids. Arkansas would be well served in the long run to avoid this bear trap. It's not like this POS side of Petrino hasn't cropped up in other places before. It'll happen again

No, it's Arkansas fans that have earned the SEC Rant hate.

I wouldn't say that... I think given the nature of the affair happening within the AD office, it isn't a productive work environment anymore. But I also think the moment Petrino is out, UT has him on the phone to take over for Dooley

I think the lying to his boss part is what will really cost him whatever the punishment is. I'd be fricking pissed if I was Long about that. Lying about this might not seem like a huge deal, but they need the utmost trust in a relationship when it concerns other matters like violations, looking at other jobs, etc. and Long probably needs to determine if he can really trust him.

I thought Long handle the presser like a champ. You can tell that guy feels like he was down right betrayed by someone he stood by. I feel sorry for the position that poor bastard is in now. He is in lose-lose situation.

Yup, he's either going to have the national sports media grilling him or his own fanbase pissed at him.

I think between that and Long has to think about his other employees in the AD office. Can he really allow Petrino to do that because he wins as the football coach? Would he allow the same from the baseball, basketball, track, etc. coaches? What about the women Petrino has to interactw ith in the workplace after this? What are the odds a sexual harrasment lawsuit (warranted or not) crops up because a woman feels suspicious of Petrino and thinks he made an advance on her? There is a lot more to this than Petrino is a great coach (he is). If this were the NFL, I don;t think it's an issue. But you're in charge of 18 year olds and are the face of a university and share a workplace with multiple other athletic professionals who are supposed to adhere to the same rules as you

Me too. I seriously hate it for him and I think our fanbase needs support the guy. He's not the one that fricked up but he's the one trying to fix it.

Long is a figure head who had to be forced to get on a plane to go and hire Petrino to begin with.

He will do what our boosters want to do and the fans support what the boosters want so I would say if he can be saved then he will.

He created our new and competitive Razorbacks.
