Ok say I jump with you on that GIANT leap, how does that story explain why they were riding together in the first place?

Jimm Larry Hendren
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jimm Larry Hendren (born 1940 in Gravette, Arkansas) is the US District Judge who ruled in favor of Billy Ray and Mary Nell Counts, a couple in Cedarville, Arkansas, in the 2003 lawsuit Counts et ux. v. Cedarville School Board. The court decided that the local school's rule requiring parents' written consent to read the Harry Potter books was unconstitutional.[1] The district court's opinion can be found here, and the decision was cited as precedent in subsequent censorship cases.[2]

quote:

Hendren graduated with an LL.B. from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1965. Later that year Hendren would join the JAG Corps of the United States Navy, returning in 1968, for a year, to his private practice in Bentonville, Arkansas, which he would expand in later years. In 1970 Hendren became a United States Naval Reserve Lieutenant Commander, a position he would hold until 1983. Meanwhile, in 1977, he became a probate judge (Chancellor) of Arkansas' Sixteenth Chancery District, before returning again to his private practice.[3]
He was nominated by George H. W. Bush as a District Court Judge for the Western District of Arkansas on November 5, 1991, to a new seat created by 104 Statue 5089. The nomination was confirmed by the United States Senate on March 13, 1992, and Hendren received the commission on March 18, 1992. He has served as the chief judge from 1997 to the present.[4]

I'm not saying I believe this, but the theory could go that Petrino was just giving her a ride and that was it.

Yeah, but the question is why. Would your dad have ever taken a girl you were seeing for a ride on his motorcycle and you wouldn't have felt that was weird...

I mean its just a big stretch and a lot of holes in the story for me to believe it

The thing is, there could be more information out there that has yet to be revealed that could turn this whole thing upside down. At this point it's tough to really say what actually happened. I believe the simplest explanation is the one most likely to be true, and in this case that would be Petrino was having an affair with JD and that's what he was trying to cover up. At this point, though, I acknowledge there could be other explanations or twists in this story.

I just think that him lying and trying to cover up the accident is basically a confession to me.

Yes, but maybe it was a confession that JD and he were involved in an inappropriate business relationship since he hired her for a $100k/yr job only after she and his son got together? Petrino may have not wanted anyone to know JD was hanging out with the family (in order to protect himself for the promotion and in order to protect his son's reputation for causing an engagement to be called off).

Quick question, don't they often hire quickly and from within? Kevin Peoples got moved pretty quick (surely he isn't riding bitch with Petrino ).
Seems like a lot is made of her quick hiring and such but it seems pretty SOP to me looking at how athletic departments do things.

Jon Ham have you heard anything regarding the latest news? Hearing it is gonna be quite bad and possibly resulting in a resignation as early as Monday. I don't have the actual rumor, just heard that it was so bad that CBP was gonna be gone. Looking for some info on what it may be.

I know nothing more than anyone else. My intuition and logic tells me Petrino is likely done and will resign, but I think there is a chance we just reprimand him and try to see if he can still be an effective HC after this. It all depends on what Jeff Long finds out in his investigation - if it all turns out to be less bad than it appears, then a reprimand is likely; if Petrino has in fact been having a sexual relationship with JD and JD's hiring/promotion was tied to that relationship... well then he's gone IMO.

hopefully i'm just channeling my inner bluetunatiger, but some things still don't add up. the police report describes highway 16 as east-west and that the bike went off the north side of the road. petrino says that looking into the sun might have contributed to the crash in a handwritten statement from tuesday. but the coordinates in the report are for a north-south stretch on the road.

the guy in the 911 call described the bike as having been headed north as well. The report says Dorrell didn't know what caused the crash.

here's images of the crash site:

here's the streetview and satellite for what i think is the crash site as described in the police report:

here's the link to the spot on google maps

i'm still braced for something worse.

Looks like he just came off a curve to me.

I think people are to hung up on the word curve. The are expecting some 90 degree turn that is tough to navigate at high speeds.

However, where he wrecked is the mid point of a slight S-curve on the straight stretch in between two curves.

Completely feasible that he lost control coming through the first curve, a little touchy feel surprise perhaps, and lost control of the bike and eventually went off the road a little ways down the road.
