How about LSU retains the Tiger name since we have mike, Auburn goes as war eagle or plainsman and Missouri can be a kitten or something... Sound good?

I actually think it would be pretty damn awesome if Auburn were the "War Eagles".

I'm down... The sec has three of the five schools that have "tiger" mascots?

LSU (Bayou) Bengals, Auburn (War) Eagles, and Missouri gets to keep the Tigers name because they have nothing else going for them.

When did LSU change from the bayou bengals. Kick Missouri back to the Big 12 and let the original tigers keep the name. Is this a monthly thread?

In all seriousness, there are only two teams that come to mind when you think about the Tigers: The Detroit Tigers and LSU Tigers. Hell, LSU has a freaking live caged tiger as their mascot and play in a football stadium called Tiger Stadium. What else do they have to do to prove they are the Tigers?

Um....there are about 10 teams in the NCAA with Tigers as mascots, but you were halfway there.

I counted the ones that play...period. If you want schools (Universities) with the Tiger mascot, I think there are 27 of them.

Throw in Memphis State, Clemson & Jackson State and you have too many in the South to keep up with. I go with LSU.

LSU is the only team with a cool story behind choosing the Tiger. I'm pretty sure AU and Mizzou just picked it because they liked it.

Its official team nickname is the Fighting Tigers; and Lady Tigers for women's teams that have a male counterpart (the term "Bayou Bengals" is also heard at times, but not officially recognized).
