Vanderbilt - 23
South Carolina - 10
Arkansas - 6
Missouri - 0
Texas A&M - 0
Looks like you guys will have the worst program in the SEC starting next year.

Maybe we should be having this argument with Florida fans then, since Arkansas has obviously struggled as of late compared to their triumphs of yesteryear

We have football, gymnastics, and softball rolling right now.
Basketball has the support, facilities, and budget to get things done.
Baseball has the right man leading the program. He just needs help getting new facilities to compete in recruiting. That's on the horizon.
Women's soccer is usually competitive.
We have a very good rowing program.
Women's basketball is awful, but they have great facilities.
Volleyball has a new facility. I have no idea how good they are.
Swimming and Diving is suppose to get a new facility. I think they are usually pretty good.
Track and Field has had flashes of greatness, but it's pretty much a show run by Arkansas, LSU, and Florida.
That all being said, I'm not sure how you can come to the conclusion that Alabama's athletic department is "the worst overall". We're fielding a solid enough product in all three major sports. Football is winning championships. Baseball is in the post-season every year (a Super Regional just two years ago). Basketball was headed to the NCAAT, if not for the major supsensions. The Grant Experiment isn't over just yet.
When you couple Alabma's three major sports with success in gymnastics and softball, for the non-revenue side, I think it's a pretty solid athletic department. All of the new facility improvements, across the spectrum, will start to put Alabama up there among the "all-around athletic departments" that exist.

I've been there. It's really not close. You can't even compare doctors and attorneys to horse owners and breeders. The latter probably has 10x more assets than the average Mountain Brook resident.

It doesn't include every sport. Just a FYI: Arkansas has won more national championships since joining the SEC than any other SEC school during that time period.

Awesome. But it's the main industry in central KY. What is Alabama's? It really doesn't have one. I wasn't the one that brought money/boosters into this discussion. It was actually an Arky fan.

I would bet the two metro areas have almost indentical per capita income, three house breeders are not going to out spend 303 white collar workers

You are correct, its not every sport. In mens track/cross country alone we have about 50.

It doesn't inlcude track or CC which would bump us to 57 conference titles.
It also doesn't include all the conference titles we won before we joined the SEC. It's comparing titles from 1933-present for 10 schools and '92-present for 2 schools.
In that same time period Arkansas has 159 conference titles total.

The main industry in central Alabama? I would say medical. UAB Medical is the largest employer in the state. I would put the steel industry up there too, but it has really declined in the last 20 years. We have the North American Mercedes plant in Tuscaloosa/Vance.
