Hogs, what's the backstory on Petrino/Reggie Johnson?

SIAP

quote:

Arkansas: Sources tell me that Bobby Petrino will not allow former linebackers coach Reggie Johnson to collect his bowl bonus. Johnson, who departed just after the Cotton Bowl to become the defensive coordinator at UAB, is not pleased. UAB head coach Garrick McGee is apparently quite bitter about the situation as well

I think he let him know last minute or something right before a recruiting trip or something.

Nothing to see here

I don't know anything but my first guess was it was probably due to Johnson's ineffectiveness this season in recruiting at his position.

The LB's we signed that we're excited about we got on heavy after Reggie moved on. Brother Paul and the Ohio State additions really turned it on from the moment they got here.

Monetary wise, I'm pretty sure the dude isn't struggling, at least compared to most middle-class Americans.

Surely being denied of his bowl bonus, isn't going to put a hole in his greedy pocket, right?

Johnson probably planned to take the bowl bonus and go to the B'ham strip club and make it rain on Bama Fax Cam chick.

My sources tell me he was looking to hire a guide with that cash... his top target was Mike Price.

If that guy had any kind of legit contract with Arkansas, then he is due that bowl bonus.

BMFP showing his true colors... again.

yeah, something happened for a breach of the contract. maybe some non-performance issue or personal conduct... but idk.

When an employee quits while his boss is on the road without any prior notice or discussion, that "contract" is thrown out the window by the employee.

It really depends on how the contract reads.

Surely BP understands the whole short notice thing by now.

Did Urban Meyer scream he wanted the rest of his money when he quit on Florida?

He didn't have to. Foley even paid him his loyalty bonus. It was part of the contract and had to be paid. It's pretty simple.

I'm just surprised BP would not pay someone for leaving a tad "early".

I mean if anyone should understand the desire to move on in the middle of the night...

Your troll attempt is elementary and obvious.

We also did not see Petrino trying to call out his former boss to pay him either.

Petrino should have screamed at the top of his lungs for any money he was owed for backing the U-haul out without damaging anything in the middle of the season.

I would assume his contract was voided when he backed into something with the box truck on the way out.
