Going out on a huge limb here, but he will finish next year as the highest rated QB in the SEC next year. The youngster really impressed me this season: I didn't see that happening.

Those are more like my 5 favorite SEC players with no team bias. I honestly don't know enough about many of the East schools to give a real top 5 list. Jones is an animal though.

Bama fans sure do hate Tyrann Mathieu. So you caught about 3 passes on him the other night, big deal. He was still only a sophomore and next year he'll be right back to doing his thing.

2. CJ Mosley
3a. McCarron
3b. Lacey
4. Lester
5. Nico
but I'm a little biased.

I would put TM7 at about #8 or #9 and it has nothing to do with his performance in the Bama game. My top 5 people were the players that I feel would give me the biggest matchup problems if I were gameplanning against them. They players I would fear most. TM7 comes up with big plays but he is not the kind of player you have to be aware of at all times. His coverage ability is only average due to his height.

Go ask Nicky how many sleepless nights he had trying to find ways to keep Mathieu out of the backfield. You know what going 5 wide does? It keeps Mathieu in coverage and away from blitzing. Even in the first Bama/LSU game, when Mathieu blitzed, good things happened for LSU. The 2nd matchup Bama schemed well enough to keep Mathieu out of positions where he could blitz.

I considered him, but he did not quite make it. Top 10 for sure.
