Was he really that good? Was he just over shadowed by Saban, TR,...etc. I just never thought of him in that elite level. Is it just his potential that the nfl "folk" like? Not a flame attempt

He started out slow on the team, but got better last two years....he'll do good in the NFL just not a Mark Barron type..

he was a beast. teams quit throwing at him downfield. they would throw quick screens his way and he would come in like a bolt of lightning and drop the reciever in his tracks for no gain or a loss. i was amazed at how physical he became for being such a skinny kid

The talent at LB and DL overshadow the DBs?

He is pretty damn good. Every goes nuts over his size and quickness. He is a great cover corner. Will he get burnt his rookie year in the NFL. Of course, CB = hardest position to play in the NFL.

He has some great range and really improved this year. I might would even take him over Claiborne.

The only thing he struggles with sometimes is bump and run. Hopefully he gets drafted by a team that runs a lot of zone, because that is what he is best at.

i think Dre played his best against Arkansas. he had a big pic against Mallett and he had some big hits in this past years game

I was much more impressed with the size he put on and how he started hitting people like he was pissed. He has good cover skills, I wouldn't call him an elite cover corner, but he's still very good. Seems like he is more comfortable in zone, but maybe it's because the Arky game keeps coming to mind.

He is really physical for a player of his stature. He is kind of lanky and frail looking, but he lays the wood

I don't think it'd surprise anyone if Kirkpatrick has a better combine than Mo Claiborne. Claiborne is a beast too and I'm not taking anything away from him, but we all know that the combine carries a shite ton of weight more than it probably should at times.

I.E. Darius Heyward-Bey.

But you can't go wrong with either player. Kirkpatrick's resume is pretty amazing.

ETA: He is also 2 inches taller and 10 pounds heavier than Mo Claiborne.

Which means absolutely nothing. Mo Claiborne will go before dre and its not even close. Yes, he looks good on paper and can lay the hat, but in coverage the two aren't even close.

Hes a freak of an athlete but teams want shutdown corners that high and in no way is dre kirkpatrick shutdown.

ETA:

Lol then he MUST be better.

Obviously, you didn't read my entire post. I said that measurables are sometimes carried with more weight than they should. Every NFL scout loves the fact that Dre is big and tall. That was my point.

But since, you're a BAMF:
