you as shocked and unbelieveing as lsu fans that miles kept doing the same thing over and over? that he didn't throw the ball downfield or change qb's or both?

Jefferson couldn't throw the ball down field. The one time he did he got pasted by Sunseri. JJ is a jerk but yalls OL is as much to blame as play calling imo

I couldnt. I predicted 21-14 Alabama. Never dreamed that LSU wouldnt score. Well, I had a dream about 4 weeks ago that the score would be 33-0 Alabama but damn.

I was really nervous they were going to start throwing the ball downfield. They came out in the second half, and did for a few plays. It worked, but then they abandoned it.

I don't think he could believe what was going on.

Yes. Your O-line was being eaten alive. Jefferson would have just been sacked or flushed from the pocket if you tried to go down the field.

no, we threw 2 of them. and if you play-action on 1st down and 2d down you get a little extra time. there are things you can do.

I was surprised at how quickly your OL began to be over-powered.

I made this point earlier, but I think Miles prepared and coached arrogantly and it cost him. Saban and his coaching staff made a ton of adjustments from the Nov 5 game because they knew they were up against a great team. They broke tendancies, made adjustments, prepared for all circumstances and it showed.

It's like Miles just said, screw it, we beat them once and we are just going to do the same thing again. And when it became glaringly obvious that the same thing was not going to work he was either incapable of adjusting or too arrogant to admit that the same thing would not beat Alabama again.

So true... I do strongly disagree with those saying we couldn't throw downfield if we tried. Many times Jefferson had good enough protection and choked or tried to run.

You are spot on with this. Bama's offense was completely different from the Nov. 5th game while LSU's was exactly the same. Then when it wasn't working there were NO changes or adjustments by the coaching staff. This was the worst game plan and overall coaching job I have ever seen by LSU. (Been watching for about 15 years and able to actually understand the game for 13 or so.)

He couldn't get the ball off quick enough, he knew the pressure was going to come. We couldn't protect all night. His hesitation in the pocket was ridiculous.

I was absolutely shocked that lsu kept trying to run the option. Did Miles really not think Alabama wouldn't be ready for that?

Well Miles was using the at first you dont succeed try and try again theory, well we tried and tried again and nothing happened.

What made you think Miles was capable of coming out with a complex game plan with multiple contingencies if things didn't work as planned? Has he ever done that in a significant game at LSU?

Miles is what he is. He is a great recruiter and a very good motivator. His kids play hard and when he has better talent, the talent and effort usually are enough in the end. But, he doesn't do complex game plans and once LSU couldn't run at all on Alabama, this game was over.

I mentioned this somewhere else in another post, but, I was shocked that it became apparent early in the 4th quarter that LSU was just going to run the ball. I couldn't believe it because you're at least 2 scores down (15 pts) and you start running out the clock.

I know things weren't working, but, I knew then that #14 was headed to Tuscaloosa, and, LSU was giving it to Bama.

I think JJ was not able to recognize Bama's coverage.

miles does have a staff who is capable. No, the point is, even if you know exactly how miles coaches, you still can't believe what you are watching when you see it. it's insanity.

Yes. Throwing the deep ball was your only chance to get a quick play and come back and Miles refused to admit that his gameplan did not work.
