I think the Cotton Bowl should replace the Fiesta Bowl as the 4th BCS bowl or make it 5 BCS games. cotton has way more tradition and history than the Fiesta Bowl. What do you guys think?

True. I've always thought it was one of the top Bowls. Don't know how it got left out of the BCS rotation.

I went to the Cotton last year and we had an awesome time! Classy bowl! The LSU players loved it too!

Yep. Where the hell did the Fiesta bowl come from anyway? Just a stupid bowl to satisfy the Pac 12 babies.

Agree. The Fiesta Bowl was a minor bowl historically that did not mean much until 1988 when PSU and Miami agreed to play there and forego traditional tie ins so the two best teams could actually meet.

Agree the Fiesta Bowl sucks! Tradition and history is what makes college football special and the Cotton Bowl has that! Especially now it's in Jerry's place.

Cotton just started to become re-relevant a few yaers ago.

-It got a bigger stage at Jerry's World
-It started matching up SEC teams versus BIG 12 teams
-It started getting played after New Year's, and by itself so it didnt get muddied up with all the other wack bowls on new Years
-Fox hypes it up. Only bowl game not showed/aired by ESPN

before that though it was irrelevant

Cotton History:
-One of the original "Big Four" bowls
-Hosted the Southwest Conference champion, lost its standing when that conference fell apart
-Was held in the dilapidated Cotton Bowl Stadium until recently
-Great matchups, venue, and TV coverage recently

Fiesta History:
-Founded by the WAC and hosted their champion when Arizona and ASU were in that conference
-Had two open invitations after the Arizona schools left for the PAC 10
-Invited Penn St and Miami for a #1 vs #2 in 1986/87, the most watched game in college football history
-Did a good job after that of managing invites and getting into the Bowl Alliance

Great Post!!!

I love this bowl. This is why CFB is different than any other sport. And those that want a playoff need to realize how special this is. No future implications except maybe for next year. THIS IS THE COTTON BOWL!! And that means something to each school.
