Greg McElroy committed the cardinal sin of daring to question anything remotely associated with the NFL. I imagine ESPN and Mark "Idaho" Schlereth and Merrill "Idaho State" Hoge who think they know what big time college football is are probably killing him for criticizing the NFL mentality.

Damn does Bench have two alters going?

McElroy will be getting a beat down if he should return to the Jets. Broke a cardinal rule of the NFL as a player. He gon' get raped.

I think it's very unwarranted. THe Jets were a wreck this year and that was why. Also really smart on his part to try and force their hand to get himself out of there

Schlereth actually said on Mike and Mike this morning that G-Mac was right, and that it's really Rex's fault for engendering this team culture where anybody can say anything about anybody.

Yeah, brilliant. I would guess his NFL career is over as no one is likely to pick him up. He is a 4th string clipboard holder with a big mouth.

At least McElroy proved he isn't there for the money like some of those idiots.

I enjoyed his segment on Finebaum this year. He's well spoken and isn't afraid to say what he's thinking. I think he could have several years in the NFL as a back up and part time starter, but I wished he would take his talents to ESPN. He can kick Palmers arse all day with his insight and ability to break down teams and plays, like he did last year for the BCS game.

He'd be that way for a year or two, but I could see him being a very accurate starter. He just doesn't make dumb throws, and he knows the game. I want him to be a coach at Bama (head or Offensive) one day.

Maybe, maybe not, but we may never get to find out now.

True, but I wouldn't get rid of him for being right. The Jets players didn't care, and he had a problem with it. As a QB, whether you're 2nd string, 3rd string, or a starter, you are supposed to show leadership.
