Time for UT to cut bait.......

I like Derek Dooley. He seems like a personable guy and actually was really good to our staff when he came down for the Bama coaching clinic. I think he has a good plan, but for some reason he isn't executing.
I went to high school with a guy that was really close to the Bama program during our down years. Mainly, during the Dubose, Fran, Price, Shula years. He told me after 2003 season that we should go ahead and pull the trigger on Mike Shula because he will never win at Alabama.
Dooley would have to get a lot of breaks to ever win at UT right now. He got one this year with the SEC East being so down and they couldn't make a bowl game.
IMHO, UT would be better served going to try and hire someone else.

they waited too late this year to fire him. they would probably end up in a even worse spot if they fire him now

I think Dooley is a good fit for Tennessee, he "gets" Tennessee. Tennessee needs to be patient, he took this job when no other coach wanted it.

More reason why he needs to go. fricking Arkansas fans want him to stay.
