We've run the option for years with Jefferson in the game, so certainly we'll run it some, though not as much as people seem to think.

For some reason, lots of fans seem to think the option caught Bama by surprise in the first game. Heck, we've been running it for years, so if it caught Bama by surprise, it was a miserable job of coaching by Saban and his staff. It wasn't a matter of being unprepared; LSU just executed better than Bama. Saban even remarked on the option going in at halftime, so certainly they made adjustments and expected it the second half, but LSU continued to make yardage with it.

No, JL will start and will use a drop back passing attack. That will fool Bama.

Bama has 40 days to prep for the option game. Look at what happens to teams like Ga Tech when there is alot of time to prep for the option. LSU coaches are smart. They know this. I bet we dont see much option at all. It caught Bama off guard the first game. No one expected to see that much of Jefferson. They are prepared for it now.

I agree that he can be off target some, but he tends to play really well in bowl games. I also think this LSU offensive staff will find some ways to get receivers open much more in this game. We threw the ball just 17 times in the first game and still managed to out rush Bama even with no threat of a passing game. I believe we'll throw the ball more and throw it more effectively, making the running attack better this time around.
