It'd be the semi final round so you'd have: (picking chalk)
4 Stanford @ 1 LSU
3 Oklahoma State @ 2 Alabama

Games we would've saw last weekend: (picking chalk)
8 K St @ 1 LSU
7 BSU @ 2 Bama
6 Ark @ 3 Ok St
5 Ore @ 4 Stanford

what week 1 of the playoffs would've looked like:
16 LaTech @ 1 LSU
15 N.Illi @ 2 Bama
14 Ark St @ 3 Ok St
13 W Virg @ 4 Stan
12 S Miss @ 5 Ore
11 TCU @ 6 Ark
10 Clem @ 7 BSU
9 Wisc @ 8 K St

16 is WAY too many. The final 4 is enough.

I'm a huge playoff but damn those are some ugly matchups. All of those games besides Arky/Okie State, Clemson/Boise State, and maybe Arky/TCU would be 3 TD+ blowouts.

Must be the Christmas joyous time of the year. I finally agree with DS on something.

8 would be the absolute most teams I would support, but I think 6 is the optimal number of teams for a college football playoff, with the top two seeds getting a first round bye.

I really liked that book and think the playoff system proposed would be the best in a perfect world. But in reality we are very far from a 16 team playoff.

Not sure what "picking chalk" means, but do you think LA Tech, N. Ill, Ark St, Southern Miss, Clemson, etc. deserve a shot at a NC? Some of your playoff games would be 30 pt spreads.

by picking chalk I mean picking the higher seeded team in every game.

Ofcourse there'd be blowouts in the first round but what you'd get in rounds 2+ would be worth it, and you know you'd get an upset every once in a while too.

This isn't my system btw in case you didn't notice this part:

Nice system I also like 16. The way they drag out all these meaningless bowl games, what r they like 40 now, feels like 100. All comes down to money though.

Bill Hicks is right for once. 16 should never and won't ever happen. 4 is the correct number if you're going to expand the playoff beyond it's current two team format.

I noticed it didn't make a lick of sense if that's what you're asking.

4 is enough.

conference winners only. if, as is the case this year, the 2nd best team is on a conference with one of the top 4, too bad.
They can be in a big boys bowl game and show what they can do against another real good team. but they dont get to have a do-over. The do-over sucks.

So in your playoff system the best team in the country, arguably, is excluded?

This is why it will never be 16.

The thing that I don't like about a 16 team playoff is that most of the first round games will be incredibly boring to watch. What network is going to pay good money to watch LaTech @ LSU, N.Illi @ Bama, Ark St @ 3 Ok St, etc....

So as a fan, which one do you go to? You can only choose 1.
