That seems to make geographic sense.

If it was going to happen it would have been at expansion.

An even better idea to me, but I don't know if it's even possible, is no set divisions at all.
The conference would seed teams at the same time they handed out preseason awards.
The number one and two seeded teams would be placed in different divisions, and the rest accordingly. That way, you'd be spared massacres in the SECG, like we've come to expect.

It would certainly accommodate the need to have Bama play UT and AU every year.

So you want 8 teams in one division and 6 in the other?

I am sure that LSU and arkansas fans would be all for it.

five of the historic big 6 in one division is not going to happen

It makes sense, until you consider what the West would look like.
West - LSU, TA&M, Ole Miss, Miss State, Vandy, Arkansas, Mizzou,
East - Florida, Tenn, Bama, AU, UGA, SCAR, Kentucky
It would work for the next year or two while UF and UT are done, but the prez's know that in 5 years the East could be murderer's row, while LSU and Arky could just take turns winning the West.

Exactly. The conference is balanced with each division having 3 of the traditional Big 6. Moving Bama & Auburn to the East would leave only LSU in the West.

Yeah 5 of the big 6 in the same division. Brilliant.

Nothing this conference is doing makes geographical sense so why start now...let's get retarded and declare Ohio State in the Southeast. Makes sense money wise which is all these assclown presidents give a rip about

For crying out loud the SEC Offices just put Missouri in the East for the sheer sake of preserving the UT-Bama rivalry.

They actually should have moved Alabama to the East and kept everybody else in the west. It would have balanced out the two divisions and kept the Alabama-Tennessee rivalry intact.
