09' Alabama and the NFL Draft

There have already been 13 players off that roster drafted with 6 taken in the 1st round. There will likely be no less than another 4 taken in the 1st round this season and as many as 10+ taken. With another 2 seasons of players that were on the roster getting drafted, will that roster go down as one of the most NFL rich in history? Can they challenge 01' Miami's total of 37 drafted and 17 in the 1st?

I'm not comparing 2009 Alabama to 2001 Miami in any way other than how many eventual NFL players came off of the roster.

I think that we should just add another Pro team, and just get players from the SEC. Just think it would be like having football season till
Feb. What a team, and we'd take over the pros as well as college football. I really don't even watch the pros until Superbowl....but I have watched some this year to watch a few of our former guys play.

not sure it will get up to 37. that's a TON. who knows.
time will tell if the '09 roster can be as successful as Miami '01. there are some beasts that came from that team. Andre Johnson, Vince Wilfork, Gore, McGahee, Kellen Winslow, just to name a few.

I don't think we'll ever see a team as talented as 01 Miami. That team was loaded with NFL All Stars.

Yeah, 13 players off of the 01' Miami team have made a Pro Bowl... quite a few of them have been name to 3 or more. Only time will tell if any team comes close in that aspect, but the #1s and overall picks can be speculated on before then. Just counting the ones that will obviously be drafted in the next 2 years, I think the team will wind up with close to 30 players drafted.

Should have at least 30 players drafted from that roster. 37 will be a stretch but it's conceivable.
