The old scheme had worn out it's welcome, and a change had to be made for the good of their program.
So yes- I would expect to see some marked improvement from Auburn's defense in 2012.

Auburn's defense was better than its offense this year. Ouch. Auburn is replacing the wrong coordinator.

Chizik was supposed to be a defensive guru, yet he hasn't fielded a good defense at Auburn. I'm not sure shuffling coordinators will solve anything.
