Why does everyone expect Head coaches to be like Presidents?

These guys have one of, if not THE most cut-throat jobs in the world. Universities fire them at the drop of a hat...look at Sherman getting canned by A&M 1 year after they had their best season in a decade. It's great that Les is a great guy and can get results but I don't fault Saban for being a control freak workaholic and don't think he needs to kiss babies and glad-hand. I also don't blame them for striking while the iron is hot and their stock is high and bailing for a better job...the universities would dump them just as quickly if things aren't going well. Hell, most of the Rant wanted to fire Miles after 2008, when he had lost a tremendous amount of talent and was starting herp and derp at QB. I don't get it.

What does any of this have to do with being like a President?

NOt saying bad things about people, trying to be the ultra-super good guy, yada yada yada...you know...diplomatic and shite. Coaches are in the coaching profession because they are super-competitive and want to be the best..don't see why we expect them to be so perfect in their persona.

Ummm... we don't. Saban goes apeshit on the media every other day. He screams like he's gonna burst a blood vessel. Les Miles says mildly retarded things and eats grass.

And neither of their respective fanbases is at all unhappy with them. No one is calling for their jobs.

Shitty post, doesn't make sense. You suck at grammar, would not read again.

There's been a ton of threads this week attacking Saban for being a bad person, and plenty of other talk about whether or not a head coach is a "good guy." My point is that I don't think it's a prerequisite for the job, and the coaching carousel at the end of every season just reinforces that point.

Sorry my grammar skillz aren't up to your standards. I'm going to go bust out my English books right now.

The fact that they make around 4 million a year could be a factor.
