They have a mall to shop in. You can eat at Freebirds or Chili's if you're long on cash and if short on funds, Freebirds or Applebees. There's a movie theater or two close by. Be sure to check out their gift shop.

Whatever you do, don't walk on the grass.

They've redacted that edict due to confusion.

Walk on all the grass you like, SEC fans

Yeah, because grass is for barbecuing on and tailgating, not lolly-gagging around.

If the good men at Arlington Cemetery don't mind, by Gawd I'll walk on yours if I want

Check out Northgate for the bars at night, and before the game if you aren't tailgating. It is right across the street from campus.

Freebird's is good to try once. It's like Chipotle on steroids.

Lane's Chicken Fingers is good, if you like chicken fingers. That is all they serve, and yes it is worth it.

Rudy's BBQ is a local Texas BBQ chain that is pretty tasty.

Los Cucos if you like Mexican food.

That's about all I got. Been several years since I was in school. Have made a couple trips back and all of the above are still good places. I am sure some of the more recent students will have other suggestions.

And don't be like the moronic tough-guy posters above, and show some respect when you are at the Memorial Student Center (MSC). The building and its grounds are a memorial to fallen Aggies in the various wars. It is asked that you refrain from walking on the grass, and remove your hat when you go inside.

If there is not a decent Texas Country concert the first time LSU plays in College Station I'm going to be sad.

However, it is a trip I'm looking forward to as well my pops tells me it at least used to be a good time.

Yes sir. If I ever die and my memorial is fricking grass, I'm gonna come back and haunt whoever decided that.

I almost saw an 80+ year old LEO/guard at the Alamo whip a 25ish year olds arse for refusing to take his cap off inside the Alamo in San Antonio. I was very quietly cheering the old man on myself. It didn't escalate much further than them kicking the dude out though

There is almost always good Texas Country at the Texas Hall of Fame just outside town.
