With RG3 getting all the hype of playing the last week and the Honey Badger single handedly turning the SECCG momentum around for LSU, do you think that the Honey Badger costs Richardson the Heisman?

No, I'm not saying Mathieu wins it, but we do know he shares the same voting block as Richardson does.

Luck will have his West Coasters, RG3 will have the entire Big 12, Richardson will carry the lion's share of the SEC, but Mathieu, IMO, will cost him the Hesiman.

And to be fair, the Honey Badger deserves probably twice as many votes as he's going to get with all of the things that he's done this year. People talk about RG3 being a game changer, but no one seems to say that about TM7, though he's been just as dominant in a position that doesn't really have an opportunity for 1/8th of the glory the QB position offers.

Thoughts?

No.

Griffin is probably gonna get more votes than TR and TM combined.

Mathieu cost Richardson nothing. Richardson did not have a Heisman-worthy season. Mathieu probably did, as did the RB from Wisconsin and the QB from Baylor.

No. RGIII is going to cost Trent Richardson the Heisman. TM will get some votes that would have went to Richardson, but RGIII won this award on Saturday night. If you look at the projections, RGIII is ahead by a pretty big margin.

Trust me, I get it.

But for whatever reason, no one is giving him his due respect.

He's not going to win (many people don't even think he's going to get invited to the ceremony), but he will be receiving some first and second place votes that probably would have gone to Richardson.

Everyone forgot about all of Mathieu's hype after the drug stuff. After he dominated the SECCG, everyone remembered at the last second.

Is it enough to win him the Heisman? Doubtful.
Is it enough to steal votes that would have otherwise gone to Richardson, putting Luck or RG3 over the top? Absolutely

No offense to Bama fans but I didn't think Trent had a Heisman type season either.

Richardson shares in the blame for this.

In the only big game of the year for Alabama, Richardson rushed for less than 4 yards per carry, did not reach 100 yards rushing, and scored 0 touchdowns.

It was great that he racked up eye popping numbers against the stout defenses at Ole Miss, Georgia Southern, Florida, and North Texas. Again, let's use the "eye ball test" and go look at his season's stats. They are not Heisman worthy.

Not even close. Ingram blew Tate out of the water.

More yards, more yards per game, more yards per carry, and more TD's.

To be fair, he didn't have a punt return for touchdown until the Arkansas game. That coupled with the one game suspicion, he honestly doesn't deserve the Heisman. IMO

I guess ESPNs Richardson for Heisman campaign failed.
