That would be a great game--lots of upsets back in the day. Southern Miss would need a lot of voter love to jump WVU and TCU, though.

Southern Miss would have to finish above TCU and the Big East champ (WVU) in the BCS. They are too far behind.

I want to bring up Utah, but I agree. USM-Bama would be a terrible matchup and would just a joke of a game.

If a non-AQ conference champ finishes ahead of an AQ champ (WVU) and in the Top-16, they're in.

Passing WVU shouldn't be too hard--they were one spot behind and beat the #6 team while WVU struggled Thursday with an unranked USF. TCU would probably be too far ahead, and TCU's losses to Baylor and SMU look a lot better than USM's losses to Marshall and UAB.

TCU better hope Wisc drops the game to MSU who is winning at half. Only 2 teams ahead of them that could drop is UGA which will and Wisc if they can not come back. Which would put TCU to 16th. SMiss has no hope.
