He told a caller, 'we're bringing an army down there with us....it will be the War of 1812 all over again..."

Well Pawlll, we seem to have another game to worry about first (unlike Alabama). Wait your turn, baby.

the outsiders attacking New Orleans got their asses thoroughly handed to them by Jackson and his militia of locals. Finebaum is a fricking retard.

The War of 1812 had officially ended by the time the Battle of New Orleans was fought. The battle was comparable to an exhibition game with a lot of Brits being slaughtered by angry white farmers and African-Americans.

Aren't you supposed to back channel the talking points? Kind of obvious to alert your buddies in the open like this.

Finebaum: I don't actually know what the outcome of the War of 1812 was.

In 2011 we took a little trip
Along with Leslie Miles down the mighty Mississip.
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we whupped the bloody Gumps in the town of New Orleans.

[Chorus:]
We fired our guns and the Bammers kept a'comin.
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

We looked down the river and we see'd the Saban come.
And there must have been a hundred of'em beatin' on the drum.
They stepped so high and they made the bugles ring.
We stood by our cotton bales and didn't say a thing.

[Chorus]

Montgomery said we could take 'em by surprise
If we didn't fire our muskets 'til we looked 'em in the eye
We held our fire 'til we see'd their faces well.
Then we opened up with squirrel guns and really gave 'em ... well

[Chorus]

Yeah, they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where the badger wouldn't go.
They ran so fast that Mingo couldn't catch 'em
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.**

We fired our cannon 'til the barrel melted down.
So we grabbed an alligator and we fought another round.
We filled his head with cannon balls, and powdered his behind
And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind.

[Chorus]

Yeah, they ran through the briars and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes where the badger wouldn't go.
They ran so fast that Mingo couldn't catch 'em
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

Umm...because he's entertaining?

Hell- I'd love to see him broadcast live from BR the day of (of the Friday before) the 2012 game in BR.

He does have a good many listeners over this way- whether people admit it or not.

Hmm, quite an interesting analogy. So the war was fought and won (9-6), but they still had an exhibition in NOLA, in which the Americans whooped that arse just for fun.

I like it, Paul.

And just like the War of 1812, Bammer will show up to the wrong battlefield a year late.
