Brian Bennett does a little bit of TD.com style - "lets blindly compare stats and then lets do it all over again for one common opponent" to justify why Monty Ball should be ahead of Richardson in the Heisman race.

With statements like:

quote:

Other than some slightly better numbers in receiving (but not touchdown receptions), Ball has the clearly superior numbers.

and,

quote:

Hmm. So why exactly is Richardson so far ahead of Ball in most straw polls? It wouldn't be a bit of SEC bias, now would it?

It was entertaining.

TR would rush for 350 yards on Purdue and Illinois.

If Bama had Russell Wilson at QB, there's no telling what type of crazy numbers Richardson would have.

I was thinking about this the other day. Our offense would have been amazing if we had a qb like that.

My favorite thing in that article is that he decided to use a random "top 36" defense to decide how many Trent ran against compared to Ball....Because Nebraska is 36th and it biasedly supported his argument.

By the same argument - Trent ran vs 4 top 10 defenses and Ball only against 2.

This guy is a joke like the rest of the Big 10

What was his thoughts on Troy Smith winning the heisman over Darren McFadden?

DMC was too young to win would be my guess.

I didn't realize we referred to it as the "The top 36"

I guess the "Top Ten" would've have excluded some of his explosively talented teams.

This guy is way behind if he's just now realizing that the heisman is a joke of an award.

I was just saying that Trent has only run against 2 Top10 defenses (LSU and UF), not 4. "Top36" argument is obviously skewed towards Ball.

Oh my bad. I misread how he worded his propaganda.

He actually ran vs 2 of the top 10.
Flordai and LSU.

But either way, Ball only ran vs Illinois (god knows how they're 8th) so he only ran vs 1.

Either way - only in America can you write a biased as hell article to complain about bias...

Only in America can someone read this poorly
quote:

Excluding Wisconsin, there are six Big Ten teams ranked in the top 36 nationally in total defense: Michigan State (No. 4), Illinois (eighth) Penn State (11th), Michigan (16th), Ohio State (23rd), Nebraska (36th). The Badgers didn't play Michigan, but Ball faced five of those defenses.

And your Illinois argument could be used on Florida, just saying.
