...mention it to an Aggie. I did and they almost burst a brain pipe.

The difference is that you get FIRED at Ole Miss for that record. A&M seems to want to run its football program like an inefficient government agency.

That's just cruel. I personally don't have any bad feelings toward aTm. I just feel bad for them.

This season happened EXACTLY the same as R.C. Chokum's last season:

-Blew an 18-point second half lead against Texas Tech/Blew an 18-point second half lead against Arkansas
-Blew a 17-point second half lead against Nebraska/Blew a 17-point second half lead against Oklahoma State
-Lost to a mediocre Missouri team at home in overtime/lost to a mediocre Missouri team at home in overtime
-Beat #1 Oklahoma at home/Beat #20 Baylor at home
-Fell apart in the second half of every loss/Fell apart in the second half of every loss
-Losing record in conference (3-5)/Losing record in conference (4-5)
-Losing record at home in conference (1-3)/Losing record at home in conference (2-3)
-Loss to tu at the end of the season by falling apart in the second half and handing the game to them/Loss to tu at the end of the season by falling apart in the second half and handing the game to them
-6 wins in a year that 10 wins was the minimum expectation/6 wins in a year that 10 wins was the minimum expectation
-Returned 18 starters in 2002/Returned 18 starters in 2011
-Blew an 18-point second half lead against Texas Tech/Blew an 18-point second half lead against Arkansas

R.C. had an overall losing record at Kyle that season (3-4). Sherman is 4-2.

The week immediately following the win over Oklahoma, A&M lost to a 5-7 Missouri team in double overtime.

Don't mention the fact that the year after Slocum was fired, A&M suffered the most humiliating defeat I've ever seen at a major D-1 program when OU was basically trying to kneel on the ball in the middle of the third quarter up 77-0. This was a team that Slocum beat one year earlier. That game made our 52-3 win over Ole Miss look like a hard fought battle. They should have just immediately fired Fran and put Slocum back on the team-at halftime of that game.

1. That was because we waited too long to fire Slocum. He should have been fired after the 1996 season.
2. The most humiliating defeat actually came in 2009, when A&M lost to a mediocre Kansas State team 62-14. The game was 59-0 in the 3rd quarter.

That was more embarrassing than losing to Arkansas State?

So, how does it feel with Kansas State being the Texas State champs this year?

Not the same. The 2009 Kansas State team went 6-6 but failed to be bowl-eligible since two of their wins that year were FCS teams.
The 2011 Kansas State team will have 10 wins at the end of the regular season.
