Why do Auburn fans assume they'll be on Bama/LSU's level with this staff?

considering our entire team is young, I'd say you'll have to wait and see

why did you think Mullen was going to be your savior?

Savior in my eyes = consistent bowl games. Mullen is doing that.

I think they'll be good in 2 years. I just don't see them competing for the West next year like so many of their fans seem to expect on this board.

Much more favorable schedule, average experience on the defense will be junior and the 2 deep will be very experienced and talented. Auburn is still 13 under scholarship limit this year and that is after giving 8 walk ons scholarships.

The main concern I have is the offensive line, I really wished we hadn't redshirted some of our young guys but they were dinged up to start with. Our QB play is down but a lot of factors involved in that.

Fair enough, but what makes you think this disaster of a team will improve THAT much.

Look at arkansas in 2009. Finished I think 8-5, but lost a lot of close games. That team gave you a glimpse of what they might become.

All I've seen from Auburn, in the somewhat big games, is blowouts.

Good Question.. I would be worried with the 4 losses being by
14 to Clemson
24 to Arky
35 to LSU
38 to Ga

that is sad..

I think Auburn will be better in the future and better next year but not at the consistent level of Bama or LSU.I give them a little bit of a break because of youth but LSU is young as well and we aren't struggling like that but did with young qbs which Auburn has as well so I give them a break for that reason. The coaching is not as good on that staff though.Recruiting ability does not equal good coaching ability. It's a staff filled with recruiters aside from Grimes.

I think they'll be better and dangerous next year but still think LSU and Bama will be better because the qbs aren't ready.Fraizer will improve but he will not be ready to lead them to that level as a soph.LSU will have a new qb as well but we're so good everywhere else that it will not be as big a factor as Auburn's qb issues will be.In 2013 I expect Auburn to be very, very good but so will Bama and LSU.It's quite possible that Auburn is getting good in the wrong era of the SEC west.Bama and LSU are stacked for the long haul so Auburn will have to take advantage of the years that Bama or LSU have a little bit of a down year and beat the stronger one in that particular year.

Auburn is struggling mostly from the offensive side of the ball, not being able to score so a lot of teams are staying very base and hammering away with the running game to open up the pass, with Auburn's youth they are having to move guys in to cover. El Toro is a great MLB but he is not helping with allignment issues that we have like Bynes did last year, the defensive line plays better with Holland in the game.

The problems on offense are the offensive line and receivers right now. Offensive line is an injury away from burning a RS this year, after Cooper went down we had to move guys around and only the last 3 games has this offensive line started at the same spot, meaning until the last 3 games we have move everyone to different spots to try and solve issues. The offensive line play will be much better next year with the younger talent, our Guards are not the talent level needed to run Gus' offense, they simply are not able to pull well at all and one of them just looks completely lost 100% of the time. The receivers are not stepping up to make plays and bail out the QB who is usually moving around in the pocket due to pressure.

I'm not saying Auburn will be all world next year but the team as a whole will be much improved.
