This question stems from a recent trip I made to the "lovely" city of Columbia, South Carolina. Now obviously the statistics will say that any state school like SCar will be dominated by in-state kids, but I swear to god I saw more Yankee hats, New Jersey license plates, etc. then I have seen on any other campus I've been to. Granted there was ton of true southern frat stars, but I would absolutely hate going there if I was a Carolina native. That school might as well be renamed the University of Myrtle Beach.

Does UF, Vandy, even UGA maybe give Carolina a run for it's money IYO?

UF.

But yes Yanks have taken over.

But still even the yanks somewhat assimilate.

when i went to Florida it was like Jersey Shore U.

love the " " around Lovely.

I can't even say that with " " around it.

And the city has gotten worse/more dangerous.

There's a difference.

Yanks and Northerners. Northerners take in the culture, Yanks don't

The ones that publicly express that it's better up north or we are "slower" just get fricking annoying.

Then go to Uconn or Syracuse or something!

I only express it to my boyfriend, much to his chagrin.

How could it not be? I remember my first time being in Atlanta and how different it was. People didn't hold open doors there and most people were just very cold.

if it's like that it's cool. As long as it's not something like a flag football team where that's their form of Trash talk.

Guess I just grew up used to it. Atlanta doesn't bother me at all.

We've got a lot of NJ and Ohio.

"I'm from Cincinnati! I love the Bengals and Ohio State"

Don't see as much OSU shite now, but the years we were 7-5 and they were winning the Big10 it was frickin annoying.

I like Atlanta but I wouldn't want to live there I don't think. I definitely wouldn't want to raise kids there. Everyone also seemed way too into keeping up with the jonses, which is something I can't stand.

Ehhhh. The suburbs are worse than the city itself. I live in the middle of the city and it's really not that bad.

Lexington can be a very snobby town but thankfully not in a keeping up with the jonses way. Kinda the opposite actually. Not that its a good thing either way.

It seemed that way to me. I used to be there a couple weekends per month. But I'm from Louisville which is infinitely less snobby than Lexington. So maybe that's why.
