So is Kirby for sure Saban's eventual replacement?

Bama fans? I've seen comments that Kirby thinks it's his job. Is that the general consensus?

Would Muschamp's struggles cause some hesitance?

I don't think so. I don't like going with first time head coaches for big time jobs.

I just came back from the future, and you are gonna be SHOCKED at who replaces Saban. I can't tell you though, because it would upset the space-time continuum.

No. It doesn't look like Saban is retiring soon, and Smart will be gone after this year or next IMO.

I am not sold he would get a shot even if Saban retired after this season.

Certainly agree. Although PSU will be calling soon. Not saying he's interested, but you know they will offer big time.

I highly doubt they would, might be a 4-5th option but not their go to

Bama is not the place for your first head coaching job especially following Saban

I thought LSU probably should have strongly considered Muschamp or Fisher but neither one would have the same record Les Miles has right now

Kirby may be Saban's eventual replacement, if he goes somewhere and wins for 4-5 seasons. Kirby will probably be gone this year or next year. If he can go prove that he is a winner he may replace Saban when he finally retires.

My sources say Mike Schula is still in Mal's rolodex. He's probably the primary when Saban announces he's going to PSU before the Iron Bowl.

I asked because i had read in other threads saying Kirby wouldnt take the OM job because he thinks the bama job is his in a few years when Saban eventually retires. I didnt think that would be smart unless he's really gotten assurances that he would get it.

If he ultimately wants that job i agree, he should leave and try to start a reputation on his own. He's more of an unknown than Muschamp because Muschamp spread his wings some without Sabans shadow.

Who would be Saban's DC if he leaves? He's been grooming young guys to oversee for the last 11 years. Is there someone on your staff with that profile?

He might bring someone in, but I could see Sunseri getting promoted to DC.

When he does retire (which will be in the next three years I predict) I am going to guess they hire Patterson or Peterson...one of the two.
