How attractive is the Ole Miss job right now. Lots of questions about who would go there but is it the program in good enough of a position to get a very good coach right now?

All I've been hearing is Leach or Gruden.

or Freeze.

They'll probably just go to the ULL/Ark St game this weekend and offer the winning coach the job.

I don't think so.

He is a great coach and would be a good choice, but I think they will want someone a little "prettier". There are a few former big names needing jobs right now.

Throw some money and it's attractive.

Personally I would o out top dc rather than failed hc.

If Chavis really wanted to be a HC wouldn't he have done it a lot sooner than waiting this long as a DC at a premier program?

Chavis has been a DC (and a good one) for the last 17 years at Tennessee/LSU. He might only be 55 years old but it seems like if he really wanted to be a HC he could've done it 10x over the last several years.

Has he really ever got any head coaching offers though?

In the last 17 years? I can't imagine he hasn't gotten offers. Like I said, he's been a DC at a premier program that entire time, he's been noticed.

Has good connections, great coach would be a good hire.

Some ADs won't hire a coordinator, who knows with ole miss.

Leach would be ideal for them. OM is not asking for national titles, but they do want a competitive team that is fun to watch. With Leach on the sidelines, OM could beat any team on any day if they don't come ready to play and they will always be fun to watch. Also they could ditch that stupid Rebel Black Bear for a Rebel Pirate which would be waaaayyyy cooler.

UM needs to go after George O'Leary

He was on his way to Notre Dame!!! before a resume' snafu. Who gives a shite about a resume' snafu when ur in the shape UM is in

He's a damn good FB coach, gauranteed bowl every year and a great way to keep him around 5-6 yrs, righting the ship and transitioning to young gun

I still want Ackbar. He would be without question the best mascot in the NCAA.

pretty late in the game for chavis to start looking to be an hc. i think he's content being a coordinator.
