Remember when every Bama fan used to claim this? I'm guessing 50% of their fan base still doesn't think Les has accomplished much at LSU.

Bama fan told me Saturday night by the quad that les miles is still winning with Saban players and won last year with them too.

He has accomplished lots, but Saban built him the foundation and the swag. Les has simply continued it, and continued it well.

Saban may have built a foundation, but Nick Saban couldnt hold Miles jock in the swag department.

The swag has never been stronger than this team. Saban didn't start that.

Do bama fans understand that nick took the Miami job Christmas day 2004
And that recruiting class suffered because of it. Miles had to pick up the pieces and still managed to snag Ryan perrilloux.

Dinardo laid the foundation, Saban built the house, and Miles is making expansions.
Any LSU fan who doesn't credit Dinardo and especially Saban is dumb. Dinardo brought back the magic, but Saban took us to where we are today; however, it's not like he stacked the program for the next 20 years. Miles stepped in and did what was asked of him, sustain the success we gained from Saban, and he's done that and more. He is fielding the best LSU team/coaching staff in a LONG time IMO

He won both games he started, including the SECCG, and was kicked off the team the next year. So yes, in 2007 it worked out great

And yet I always thought it was supposed to be harder to follow a legend.
Perkins lost with Bear's players, Zook lost with Spurrier's players, DuBose lost with Stallings players, Rodriguez lost with Carr's players...
Looks like Miles bucked a trend.
