How about the last 5 national champions have either been or played LSU. If you want to win the NC, you must either be LSU or beat LSU.

And it's 4 different SEC teams. How many conferences have had 4 different teams ranked number 1?

That is interesting. Also, of the last 8 times #1 vs #2 has taken place (counting Saturday) the Alabama Senior class has played in 4 of them.
