First time for me...what should I look for and make sure I see or do while I'm there. Really looking forward to the trip.

Just have a good attitude and you'll have a good time at a tailgate.

Decent bars close to campus are the Chimes and Walk On's. Food is meh at Walk On's but the gameday location and environment is nice.

You have to get hit in the face with a piss balloon at least once. It's life changing.

watch for piss balloons. if you are targeted and the balloon misses you, do not retaliate - verbal or otherwise - or you will get beat up. good luck

Wear a poncho and earplugs so you don't have to hear tigerbait every second of the day and to help your clothes not get stained by piss. Stay away from the grandmas and children. They are the worst.

This topic comes up every once in awhile on the Tiger Rant. Here's one with good responses:

Get to campus early, park off of Nicholson or near the Student Recreation Center. Visit the LSU Union, Parade Grounds, Memorial Tower, Quad, Indian Mounds, etc.
Make sure you see Mike's Habitat across from Tiger Stadium near Maravich Assembly Center,
watch the Golden Band From Tigerland inside the Assembly Center for the Pregame TAF party, and watch them walk down the hill.
Get in your seats before the LSU pregame - the best in the nation by far.

If you smile when you hear Tiger Bait for the millionth time by some goofball fans who don't care that you've already heard it umpteen times before, you may get invited in to a tailgate

Also if you stay in BR the night before, there are casinos downtown on the River, the tallest State Capital and most beautiful State Capital grounds, and Tiger Village near campus will have 10 trillion RVs parked with the best food on the planet.
Baton Rouge also has some very good restaurants near campus and in the metro area.

Any remarks about corn dogs and you will be pelted with frozen ones.

Is your grandma coming? I heard Auburn grannies were starting to get wise about coming to Baton Rouge and we're afraid there will be a shortage of old people to push down stairs.

Seriously, as long as you take everything in stride, and ignore any real trouble makers. You should have fun. Stay out of Walk Ons.

Wear non-Auburn colors...

However, if you MUST wear Auburn colors, do not and I am serious, do not respond to the rants from the LSU fans (not all fans, a vocal minority) as you go to the stadium. Just ignore them.

I have had some great times tailgating with LSU fans that we know, BUT, it is the fans you do not know. A morning game will help...

I also rent a car and NEVER take my car to BR...

Having said all that, LSU is my second favorite SEC team and I pull for them.
