mostly a question for fla/geo fans. as a florida fan, do you wish you could go to the game in athens? georgia fans, do you wish you could go to the game in gainesville? i personally like watching all the festivities in jacksonville surrounding the game. seems pretty cool.

bama/aub - do you like it better now that it's on campus as opposed to neutral site? i know legion wasn't great but, i'm just talking about it not being on campus. what if legion field were an incredible stadium?

little rock technically isn't a neutral site but, i know lsu fans wish we could play in fayetteville.

seems like if teams had a 3 year rotation with the neutral site game every three years, you would get the best of both worlds.

I would have liked to experience the home/home simply because it's the only SEC stadium I haven't been to and will never get to go to.

However, there is nothing like UGA/UF in jacksonville. Nothing. I'm not saying it's better than everything else or a bigger rivalry, I'm just saying it is so unique in so many ways that it is truly a one of a kind experience. The landing, being on the river, the split stadium, people arriving on Tuesday and making a vacation out of it, the college kids partying it up on the beach Thursday and Friday, and my Lord the alcohol.

I'm a traditionalist, so I truly hope that game never moves and always stays in Jax.

The trip to Dallas this year for the LSU/UO game was fun. But I personally rather home sites. The trip to UDub was fantastic, and going to every SEC venue is something that is on my bucket list.

We also have the neutral site game w/eATMe at Jerry World each year. I hope it stays there forever. I love making that trip. Great atmosphere, cool stadium.

And if we go to a home and home with eATMe, I just won't go. I have no desire to ever set foot in College Station. I've heard enough horror stories about not walking on the grass and the corps giving visiting fans shite. And not like "tiger bait" kind of fun shite, but real militant, angry shite. No, thanks

College football on home campuses is the best... Auburn played Clemson at home, then on the road and then at a neutral site. I have been two the first two and plan to go to Atlanta. Outside of the game, enjoyed visiting Clemson.

Some Bama fans I know enjoyed the trip to PSU.

On campus for the Iron Bowl is good, but wish the 50/50 split still applied at both venues.

i was wondering about jacksonville because it seems so cool but, having been to athens in '09, i can't imagine not going to a game there now. absolutely can't wait to go back.

a&m/ark - i can see that. i would rather go to dallas than college station. if i were an a&m fan, i would rather go to fayetteville than dallas.

if i were an ou fan, i would want to go to austin, even though i really like dallas.

i realize you lose the gate but, you could do a 3 year rotation. that way the schools get the gate, fans get to go to the campus and you get the neutral site atmosphere.

Jacksonville is fun, but I'd like to see it rotate to the campus every few years. Maybe Jax, home, Jax, away. Or hell, throw it to the Ga. Dome once every 5 years or so...

Between the 2 games in LR each season and the A&M game in Cowboys' Stadium, I think we're missing too many opportunities for recruits to make official visits to Fayetteville. I'm from LR and love the convenience of having games at WMS (PLEASE no Great Stadium Debates) but think it would be better for us to have more home games at Fayetteville.

that would be an interesting rotation. i wish lsu could get ark to agree to something like this. alternate between little rock and fayetteville. it's not just lsu fans. ark never gets to see lsu in fayetteville. i think it would suck to never get ark in b.r.

I lived in LR for the past 14 years before moving to KC this past August. Even living in LR, I thought all home games should have been played on campus. Still do. That said, I don't mind one neutral site game with a regional rival like we have in Dallas. But having that game even makes it more imperative that the other home games should be in Fayetteville. Our gate is LOTS higher in Fayetteville than in LR, AND we can gain an extra on-campus recruiting weekend by moving both games to the Hill.

it's my understanding that the games are in little rock because people with money and clout pulled strings for that to happen. is that the case?

also, why not have lsu in fayetteville and have ole miss or scar in little rock? seems like lsu would be a game that you wouldn't want to give up on campus. or rotate the opponents. i wonder how this is decided

2013 - New Orleans
2014 - Little Rock

Alabama v. Tennessee
2011 - Tuscaloosa
2012 - Knoxville
2013 - Birmingham (if they had a stadium)

You are 100% correct. For most of the program's history, up until 1999, Fayetteville was very isolated from the rest of the state, and having games in LR was a way to bring the Hogs to the folks who lived several hours from the campus. Plus, for much of that time, WMS was the larger venue, and only in the late 90's/early 2000's did DWRRS get considerably bigger, with dozens of luxury suites and club seating.

When the UA started making noise about making a sound financial decision and moving all games to the Hill, Jack Stephens, Joe T. Ford and several others, made it clear that their money would go away if we didn't keep some games in LR. The agreement was a minimum of 2 per year, with 1 being an SEC game. So....we alternate MSU and LSU as our SEC game every other year. I agree with you, we should rotate that game and give every fan base a chance to come to Fayetteville. The rationale for the LSU game has always been that it's on Thanksgivig week and kids are not in class anyway, so we're not losing that edge quite as much. However, I don't think that holds too much water, and we'd still fill the place if we were to move it up there. And from a competitive standpoint, I like the idea of it potentially being an additional 3 hours that the visiting fans have to travel, and it could be a cold weather game, which could play into our hands that late in the season.

Like I said, I prefer all games be on campus, but if they stick with the LR mix, then we should at least rotate the SEC opponent. Make it our east opponents who have to play in LR.

That is my understanding of the situation. It doesn't suck to be a billionaire.

JAX is tradition and I want it to stay forever. It's harder on dawg fans but we get to have a better party than the turds at St Simons. That being said, i thought it'd be pretty cool of we could do this: every decade we play 8 games in Jax and then the last 2 years do a home and home. I'm not really jonesing to go to Gainesville but to deny the turds a trip to Athens is just wrong.

back when Alabama played more games in Birmingham, State and Ole Miss played more games in Jackson, etc you could 'host recruits' at those venues. Seems like the NCAA did away with that at least 10 yrs ago or so.

Are recruits still on their own at neutral site games or can a school 'host visits' or whatever the terminology would be?

fascinating. seems like ark could somehow get the stadium renovated to make the game much more palatable
