I've not seen enough of Arky's "D", to know how much Auburn scores, but I get the feeling Arkansas will come close to putting 50 on AU's swinging door defense. What do ya'll think?

You mean that swinging door that shut down a team yall lost to?

I would agree. Both defenses have their issues as is evident in prior games, but Arkansas does have the better balanced offense and should put points on the board.
This is one of the games for me, either team could lose and I would enjoy it, but I lean towards Auburn finally losing one in the SEC.

Well that great UGA defense gave up 45 to USCe, Auburn gave up 13...

I'm not sure of the status of some of our guys be we have lost a LOT on D. I know injuries are part of the game and season but this many this early is not normal.

on the flip side.. the vaunted Auburn offense only scored 16 against USC while Georgia scored 42

quote:It wouldn't surprise me. AU will have to play ball control, keep away offense like they did against USCe, but they will also have to convert TDs in the red zone and avoid the turnovers they had against USCe to have a chance to win.
but I get the feeling Arkansas will come close to putting 50 on AU's swinging door defense.
Thread is anchored for some reason. Maybe needs a more descriptive thread title.

I really think Auburn can win the game. We've seen the past two weeks that Arkansas has tons of trouble stopping the run. I think Auburn will be able to control the ball and the clock with Dyer and keep Arky's offense on the sidelines. Defensively, Auburn should have some success getting pressure on Wilson since Arky's o-line is like swiss cheese. Going to be a very close game IMO.

You HAVE to give respect and props to a team that is 19-1 in their last 20 games and think that they have a chance to win the game, especially the way Ark looked against Bama & the first half of the A&M game. But, I think this next 3-game stretch is where Auburn gets brought back to earth (at Ark, Fl, at LSU). It's still to be seen, but it looks like some of Ark's woes are mending, and I like the match-up of our biggest strength (Passing O) against Aub's biggest weakness (Passing D).
Our biggest problem on O has been breaking in two 2 OTs, and our biggest problem on D has been dealing with the loss of our 2 starting DEs to injuries. On O, we replaced the true fresh OT w/ a JUCO transfer, he got off to a rocky start in the 1st half against A&M, but showed improvement in the 2d half. Our OL isn't where it needs to be, but there has been noticeable improvement. On D, with both starting DEs out with injuries against A&M, our true freshman DE and soph DE were getting KILLED on containment in the first half. We made adjustments at halftime, and there was a VERY noticeable difference in the second half (35 pts in 1st half vs. 3 pts in 2d half). We probably get back one of our Senior DEs this week against Aub and appear to have made great progress in fixing the containment problem.
Long story short, our OL won't be as bad as many think, our DL won't be as bad at stopping the run as many people think, and there is a good chance that our O lights up the scoreboard. We could lose, but I think we win and cover.

Michael Dryer, Kiehl Frazier, and Gus Malzahn.
I think you guy's all know what is coming Saturday.
In the interest of safety, I hope you remember to bring your "Big Boy Pads" this week.
