Why da frick didn't the clock operator stop the clock with like 3 or 4 seconds left? See LSU - Ole Miss 1972!

and?

1972 - Jones to Davis;. "The Night The Clock Stopped" -- #6 LSU survived an upset bid from unranked Ole Miss in Tiger Stadium by winning the game on a TD pass from QB Bert Jones to RB Brad Davis. Ole Miss fans say the 1972 contest featured a few seconds of free football. The Tigers trailed the Rebels 16-10 with four seconds to play and the ball on the Ole Miss ten yard line. After a short incompletion by Jones to Jimmy LeDoux at the goal line, the game clock still showed one second remaining. The Tigers used the precious second to win the game on the "last play," 17-16. The home-clock advantage inspired a sign at the Louisiana state line reading, "You are now entering Louisiana. Set your clocks back four seconds."

The refs didn't give anything to auburn. Our offense blew this game. Starting with Garcia. Our defense tired out

Are you really bringing up something from almost 40 years ago? I think you cheer for the wrong team.

FWIW, the refs start and stop the clock from the field. That's what those whistles and swinging arms are for. Derp derp.

It still would've taken over a second to call a timeout

Also, I noticed many times (I know it was just ESPN clock and not official) the clock kept running a when people went out of bounds

I agree with this. As an Auburn fan it's hard to judge anything from this because USCe offense was so bad.

No timeouts left. Would have had to get a play off, which you can't do.

I'm not cheering for any team in particular. I'm just saying that usually you see the clock act "favorably" toward the home team. Here, the operator just let it run out!

It's never as good or bad as it seems. Y'all will bounce back... you don't have another real game for a month. Plenty of time to work on details.

Because he doesn't stop it until the refs on the field tell him to. That's how foozeball works.

If you'll notice, the clock doesn't stop the instant someone goes out of bounds either. Takes a second or two for the refs to signal for time to stop and for the operator to react.

I know that, I understand the rules. What I'm saying is that the operator will "help" the home team out like stopping the clock maybe a few seconds early on a play. Or, stopping the clock right when a player signals timeout and NOT when the ref signals it. Again, Home Clock Advantage.

Obviously, the clock operator must of been a closet Clemson fan
