Ok, so for some reason I thought of this today. In the past 10 years, every MNC winner has had a Heisman Winner, or at the very least, a finalist/contender besides LSU. No, Peterson and Dorsey don't count. Yes, I'm aware they didnt necessarily win the Heisman/National Title in the same year, but it is a pretty glaring lack by LSU.

2010 - Auburn/Newton
2009 - Alabama/Ingram
2008 - Florida/Tebow
2007 - LSU
2006 - Florida/Tebow
2005 - Texas/Young
2004 - USCw/Bush/Leinart
2003 - LSU
2002 - Ohio State/Also didnt have one, so LSU isnt entirely alone

Also, The participants in those games normally have one
2010 - Oregon/James
2009 - Texas/McCoy
2008 - Oklahoma/Bradford
2007 - Ohio State/Smith
2006 - Ohio State/Smith
2005 - USCw/Bush/Leinart
2004 - Oklahoma/White
2003 - Oklahoma/White
2002 - Miami/Dorsey/McGahee

Not saying it's a conspiracy against LSU, just found it interesting.

LSU has played running back by committee since Saban arrived, and our NC-winning QB's had good numbers, but not Heisman numbers. Not surprising.

If LSU had gone undefeated in 2006, Russell would have at least been a finalist.

Try to think of one for Ohio state and LSU's championship teams. It's pretty hard to find one on offense, which is basically what it comes down to.

True. I'll take his recievers over any in the SEC the last 10 years.

No. He was hurt a lot, for one thing. The offense wasn't really very good, either, so it's hard to imagine anyone on that offense being nominated.

LSU's players you named are defenders. they won defensive player honors.

apparently defense DOES win championships.
