Can the Hogs survive such a brutal SEC schedule without depth at key positions? I remember back in the day when Bama owned the SEC and Bryant would lose a fantastic starter. He would merely trot out another unknown (until then) player that would go on to be the next damn all SEC player (atleast it seemed that way to me when I was younger). I think Arky is doing a great job of maximizing their talent, but they dont appear to currently have enough arse to pull that cart all the way to the finish line. Sincerely not flaming as they have managed to hand LSU their arse lately. Just don't think this is going their way this year currently.

Part of making progress in the league is just saying 'NEXT!', and moving on with the season.

The Bequette loss hurts less than it would in most years, as we're pretty deep on the DL for a change.

I know right..before you know it David Haselhoff will be wearing a battery powered electric light up jacket singing a horrible song as the Berlin Wall slowly gets chipped away piece by piece underneath him

Good way of looking at it. You should have a really good assessment of the actual progress you are making after this game. It's always a loss when you lose a starter, regardless of the team. The real test is how you recover. Gonna be a tough game for ya, but I like your grit!

Hogs got better depth on the DL. But, is it Bama or LSU quality depth? Doubt it.

Dont think it's the season for sure, however not sure anyone knows exact duration yet. Bad luck that it's one their 2 big games of the year though.

DE's behind Bequette that are looking to step up on Saturday:

1. Chris Smith - 6'3", 251 lbs So.

Out of high school, Smith was rated a 3-star DE by Rivals. He ran a 4.7 out of high school when he weighed 230 lbs, he should be close to around there still. He was ranked as the 24th best DE in his class, and 13th best player in his home state of North Carolina.

2. DD Jones - 6'5", 307 lbs Jr.

DD usually plays DT, but the coaches like him at DE some too. He was a 4 star DT from Louisiana, ranked as the 25th best DT in the nation and 10th best player out of Louisiana. This guy is very fiery and plays with a chip on his shoulder.

Our other starting DE is Tank Wright, who is a 6'2", 252 lbs Sr. He came to Arkansas as a 220 lbs, 3 star LB, but was able to put on a lot of muscle and got moved to DE where he's been pretty effective.

We have some other guys who may get some playtime like Lonnie Gosha or Trey Flowers, who were both highly recruited prospects from this last recruiting class, but for the most part it will be Wright, DD, and Smith.

It doesn't show LSU as one of his schools of interest on rivals. He did have an offer from Bama and Auburn though. DD Jones Rivals Page
