I'd be laughing too if I duped an entire fanbase for 11 years and got rich.
I was going to say something similar.
I don't think he "duped" GA fans for 11 years, but right now he's laughing all the way to the bank.

So what if he laughs? Mark Richt is an excellent coach and UGA should count themselves lucky for having him.
florida fan wants Georgia to suck perennially.
This.

The guy who wrote this is an a jerk. He says:
"He should. Fact is, Georgia’s slide hasn’t been merely about the ascension of Alabama and Florida in the SEC. In the last two years alone, the Dogs have lost games to Oklahoma State, LSU, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Colorado, Auburn and Central Florida. How long ago was it when you could not have imagined Georgia losing to many of those teams?"
In case this clown hasn't followed football very long, he may want to do a tiny bit of research. LSU has a winning record against Georgia, historically. So, not only can I imagine LSU beating Georgia, I fully expect it.

Wrong, in the sentence before he talks about the ascendency of Florida and Alabama, as though LSU somehow belongs in the same list with Kentucky and Central Florida. It is a bad article and a reach on many fronts.

auburn is also on that list and they lead our series. your missing the point. this has absolutely nothing to do with LSU but with the fall of the program.

Fine, then say it with more precision if you want to get paid for saying it. Otherwise post on the SEC Rant where we expect people to be uninformed and slightly inebriated when they post. It would have taken thirty seconds of proof reading to realize LSU has more MNC titles than Bama in the BCS era and Auburn has one title more than Georgia. Those two programs do not belong in the same sentence as Colorado or even Boise State for that matter. However, that being said, I hope you extend Richt's contract for five years. He seems like a perfect fit.

he must have figured whoever read would understand what he meant by it and not get all emotional that their mighty bayou bengals were even uttered in the same breath as colorado or UCF. clearly he was wrong.

I'm not emotional, it is just a bad article. it is just an observation.

I was being sarcastic. I really can't think of a BCS coach who's done less with more during his tenure.
Uga has some fantastic athletes and recruits great every year. GA HS football puts out some great athletes and Uga doesn't even have to recruit them hard for them to go there.
As an Auburn rival, I'm hoping uga keeps Richt. Their next coach could awaken this sleeping giant.
You may see their next coach next week...

Alabama and Florida have put more of a hurt on Georgia in terms of recruiting. They're also closer in proximity to Athens. That's the way I took it. Georgia also hasn't really been the same since Meyer arrived at Florida in 2005, and Richt no longer had Zook to beat up on. And it certainly lost some luster after "The Blackout" to Alabama in 2008.

Calm down bro. Probably just an honest mistake.

Very similar to the Fulmer situation. The only difference is Fulmer's recruiting went to shite whereas UGA is pulling in top 10 classes year in and out.
WGAS if it's a top 10 class when it doesn't fit your needs?
UGA's recruiting philosophy as of late is "all those other schools who are good want this big guy, let's go after him too, and if we get him, we'll try to plug him in somewhere and make him fit". Which is ridiculously stupid. We have guards playing tackle, 4-3 defensive players out of position in a 3-4, a LB'er at TB, corners trying to play safety.
It's maddening.

It doesn't GD matter what Alabama and Florida do or don't do in relation to Georgia. All three are capable of getting quality talent. Alabama and Florida, though, understand how to get quality talent that they need.
UGA does not.
I'd rather get a 3 star ILB with the ability to grow into the position as a 5 star safety and try to convert him. Just because someone is big or fast or strong and highly rated does not make him a "need" player. UGA has all kinds of people out of position and their football IQ's, in the positions they're playing, is about a fricking -12.

The Dogs suffered borderline humiliation on their first possession. They had a false start penalty before the first snap. They had a false start three plays later. They were whistled for delay of game before punting. Before the first quarter was over, the Dogs also were called for an illegal formation for having five players in the backfield (the penalty was declined) and they burned a timeout before a Boise State punt for having only 10 players on the field.
That sums it up for me. This team is unprepared in all phases, and it is obvious to me, just like last year during the death throws of the Urban Meyer regime, that it is time for new coaching in Athens.
I just hope they put it off for as long as possible.

i think he'll do just enough to not get fired.
i don't think uga has the stomach to get rid of him. dude would be toast if he was at bama or auburn.
