Only 3 current SEC schools have not won an SEC football championship.

Vandy
Arkansas
South Carolina

If and win will they win one and which will be the first to do so?

Possilble (not my prediction) that Arky v USCe in ATL this year.

I would predict the order of likelihood at:

Arky
USCe
Vandy

If Spurrier leaves after this year or next without one, how far will that set them back?

Same with Petrino?

This is USCe last opportunity to win the east for a while so I'm going with Arky

Definitely.

Both Arkansas and USCe are as good as they can possibly be right now.

Before Davis went down, I predicted us to play Arkie for the title. That would have eliminated one... but I will say that this is our year.

Really? Cause I would put it in this order:

Arky
USC

I whole-heartedly agree. I had us playing them as well. I think this would be "our year," meaning this is as close as we've ever been to an SEC Championship. I don't think, however, that "our year" means it's the only year we'll ever have to compete for an SEC Championship.

I could see that before Knile went down, but not now. I don't think one player's injury is detrimental to an entire season, but it could mean the difference in a game or 2. And that 1-2 game difference could cost them a trip to ATL all together.

I'll be shocked if it isn't Arkansas. Florida, Georgia and Tennessee won't be down forever and Spurrier is getting up there in age. USC has a very short window to win the SEC before it closes for good. Arkansas has Petrino as their head coach who still has a lot of good years ahead of him. They have a much more successful track record than South Carolina. They've been to three SEC championship games. I don't really see any reason why South Carolina will win the conference championship before Arkansas unless you believe that USC good enough to beat LSU or Alabama in a conference championship game setting in the next couple years or UF, UT and UGA will be in a prolonged slump for a number of seasons.

Couldn't disagree with that statement more, for several reasons.

I predicted that both teams would have a simultaneous shot at it this year, until the Davis injury.

So you do or don't believe that "window" will stay open a while?

I honestly think our major improvement in facilities has translated to better recruiting, particularly in state, and this has permeated to other programs with close geographic proximity. In other words, UGAy and UF have suffered a little because of our about-face in facilities, spending, and recruiting. Things of this nature tend to produce results that last longer than "a few years."

Arky (with Petrino) WON the Liberty Bowl in 09 and Lost the SUGAR last season.
