2010 season

The 2010 season could be defined as both bad and embarrassing. But let’s not forget, it had been fifty years, FIFTY! since the Rebels had won back-to-back January 1 bowl games. Fifty! It’s easy to dwell on the negative, it’s easy to sit on the 50 yard line and say “bad, bad, bad, embarrassing” as Coach Nutt pointed out.

Tough losses to perennial powerhouses Jacksonville State and Vanderbilt early in the season set the tone. Practices were closed to help regain focus, which seemed to help in back-to-back wins over Fresno and Kentucky. However, the Rebs always seemed a play or two away from winning the big games, including a close 52-14 loss the UT. The season ended with a loss to rival MSU and a 1-7 conference record.

Wins and losses can sometimes be overrated as this is a “people helpin business”. The Rebs hope to bounce back in 2011 with Coach Nutt in the driver’s seat once again. Those failing to hop aboard the bus... risk being thrown under it.

I was like "where do yall go to school?" And they said "we play football at jacksonville state" and I was like "ah hell Nah!" And they said "haha, you must go to ole miss" then I have them some beers.
