When you spend it all on drugs there isn't anything left to pay the landlord.

Get-away cars and assault rifles aren't cheap.

How many months did they not pay their rent? +$12,000 owed to the landlord sound steep?

Just need to start paying them in installments instead all $180,000 up front in one lump sum. Also, does the university take out the taxes before hand or do the players have do that on their own?

3500 of that was not rent and I am guessing there are late fees involved as well. I would assume 5-6 months

ETA: just saw it was three players, this would ee more like 3-4 months

I've never thought that was a bad idea.

IMO, a lot of the shite these players get into would be eliminated if they were under supervision in a dorm.

Of course, Blanc & McNeil are 21-22 freaking yrs old, so they should know better.

If Blanc, McNeil and Thorpe were evicted once, then it's the landlord's stupid mistake to lease them a place to begin with though. Most property managers require pretty extensive background/credit checks before they'll lease a place.

This might aid in their transition later on.

Having players not pay their rent is a product of running a clean program... Many programs would have found a way to pay the back rent.

This appears to be the motive and my guess is that McNeil will be the fall guy and the others will get youthful offender status...

It is even possible that they all get youthful offender status. They stole 4 cell phones and a lock box valued at $1.00... A plea bargain is probable in the works,...

Because it takes a drug user to know this?

The bill was $12,385, including about $3,000 in attorney fees and $500 in filing fees.
$8,835.00 is around what they owe in rent. The rest is attorney fees, court costs, and fees paid to Deputy's to deliver the notices

While pointing a gun at the victims. Their stupidity and ineptitude as criminals doesn't lessen that fact.
